BVI SCUBA diving

We were up early this AM as we wanted to get down to the Baths from Leverick Bay and the swimmers wanted to swim there..Early like before 7, usually unheard of for us...

Coming around the point from Spanishtown we could see two masts sticking out of the water. They were not there yesterday afternoon.




Of course I went in the water with my camera....


The yachts name was VIVIMUS, and after I took pictures I sent Bazza in to see if anyone was on it, or if there was passports or anything on it to be retrieved. No one on it thank god, and about that time the gentlemen taking care of it showed up, apparently it had broken a mooring in the winds last night and the owner lives in Wisconsin>









It was really sitting their quite gently and looking liked you could pick it up and refloat it, however, by the time I left it was moving around quite a lot down there..The lead was showing in the keel. Something like this always happens when we have big winds here.

This is my third or fourth day with out going for a scuba dive. MUCH more fun to play town stuff...not...

Have to get lots of diving in over the next couple weeks as then I won't have any for a couple months in CA. Swim Vacation being on this week may actually give me a kick to get into swimming lengths again to get used to it for my swimming pool. When I am down here, no matter my intentions, going swimming lengths is just not as interesting as taking my camera diving..

This was another random jump into the channel, again, mostly fish just shallow, and nothing large...





Bazza thought it looked too cold so he opted to let me do a live dive and he circled around!



It was cold actually. My temp gauge is reading 77 degrees...



Did find one anchor, but not sure how old it may be...

The best part was the Eagle Ray at the end of my dive who was circling around me and came closer then they normally do!

Saturday afternoon in Tortola, boat turning around to get ready for the next charter everywhere, the sun is out, the winds are not too bad at all and i am eager to go diving again!

Did you know there is an old dredger sunk just outside Paraquita Bay on Tortola? Well neither did I. But there it was looming out at me...















I am making it one of my new missions to do a lot more diving around the actual island of Tortola. So far, it has been interesting. Here is also an old anchor I found a bit west of there...



Bazza getting out..He has been diving with me more since we take his boat out, but he complains bitterly about the cold each and every single dive too!




These pictures are all diving west down the channel from Paraquita Bay, I had Bazza just follow me so I could do a one way dive. It is actually quite interesting, as there is a lot of sheet rock and ledges in 20-30 feet of water all the way around. Of course not the best fish life, but the topography is certainly beautiful and nice and shallow for pictures..
