There were a couple Mayday calls on the Radio yesterday, we were listening too...The first one was a catamaran with a family on board who attempted to sail in between the Seal Dogs and found they could not. Then they Maydayed and said they were off Great Dog...so they were not even sure where they were. With children and women on board, things were a little hysterical, but they were all taken off with no injuries and the boat eventually towed off I understand. Not sure of the damage.
Then their was a second Mayday for a drowning off St John, also off a Sunsail boat, and we did not hear the outcome of that one. Sunsail boats had a bad day yesterday. When the first mayday call went out for the sunsail boat at the dogs there were tons of boats from around Harbourview headed out to help...
Simeon and Brent spent a lot of hours cleaning the boat yesterday on turnaround. Not because the guests were so messy, but our cleaner job from outside cleaners had not been too thorough lately, so they needed to put in a lot of hours to spruce it up! The decks are really needing painting again, that time of year, after a full charter season you look around at the paint and varnish and go "hmmmm"
Our new group arrived today, a mixed family from FLorida, South Carolina, Atlanta, and Boston.. Joanne was smart and came on before the younger members to pick out her choice of cabin!

Then most of the troops came down the dock...

Our texan group from last week will be glad to know that the western boot coozies are getting used immediately...

And one of the boys brought colorful corona board shorts for all the men, which we will get a picture off one of these days!

We usually have one who falls asleep on the first sail, but today we had two and they stretched right out! Nice to see guests relaxing right away!!!

We had a bit of a shorter sail, as one or two might have had a pina colada too many last night when they stayed over night in San Juan!!! But each and every person was glad to find the noodles, the beer and get into the water....

We had a pretty sunset...

A nice dinner of seared tuna...

And then the fishing rods came out. THese guests said they have been on three catamaran charters here in the BVI before and they have NEVER caught a fish trolling!, or maybe that was plain just caught a fish!! I assured them they would catch fish on here, and promptly gave Bazza extra stress as, of course, I expect him to FIND the darn things and get them on the line!
Mission accomplished on the first night though, a nice little Jack hooked and brought in...

Picture taken and then set free to swim another day!

I hear that we have some guests that like to stay up until three (have fun Brent) and one who likes to get up at 5! (have fun Simeon!)
Looking forward to a good week on board, and now it is off to bed for the blogger...
