The phone thing is pretty ironic. Deb had the original iPhone and had developed iPhone envy as several of her friends and coworkers have the new 3G. So since my phone after a year of exposure around the boats and marina wasn't working very well she decided to hand down her perfectly functional although slower than her friends iphone to me and buy the new top of the line 3gS model. She is a computer geek after all. So she gets the new phone and has it activated at the local ATT store, she had to order it from the states as the store doesn't stock the S model. But of course the store couldn't re-activate the old one for me. That had to be done on the phone with ATT/Apple. So two days later it is up and running a take it to work and exactly five hours later I dropped it in the water. So now I have a new 3G phone as well. Of course this involed another 1 1/2 trip to Crown Bay ATT store.
Hope you all had a good season Jay
I don't remember reading on your blog Jay about your new/old Iphone lasting 5 hours Jay! That is pretty funny!
I understand WHY she wanted the new top of the line, after all, I justified it too and I am only in US air space once a week! I will probably have to end up going into Crown Bay myself, and right now, I have a pretty new Iphone with a compass, but thankfully the old IPHONE works enough if I keep it plugged in to receive my phone calls!!! I ordered mine over the phone from ATT too... Season is almost over yippee!
My St Maarten Nokia cell phone that I bought a couple of years ago from UTS has the same sort of charger. French plug with 2-prong French-to-US adaptor. It works until it wobbles. So put it someplace stable... but then again, you're one of those super-stable trimarans
I have found out that stable does not mean into the wall on the boat, but down flat, but the darn thing is so tall it falls over and loses connection anyways!
Still, pretty silly I think!! |
