my new house!

Yes, I apparently am going to hang up my vacation hat for awhile in the state where EVERYTHING causes cancer and the highways and freeways suck!

Not to mention that everyone is busy making me sign form after form of "do you knows..." I never knew it was possible to have that many forms. I had a ton less forms when I sold the yacht!! This is crazy...

From someone who is used to ruling her own little "kingdom" on the water, going to where I have to sign and approve forms for everything from smoke detectors, double straps on water heaters, double earthquake straps on foundations, Megan's law (the realtors cannot tell me whether there is sex offenders in my neighbourhood, I have to look for myself on the web), I have to sign a form saying that I understand that the value of the property could go up or down, they cannot guarantee it would go up, termite inspections, (the seller pays for live bugs, the buyer pays for "problem areas in the future"), forms releasing them from the liabilty of an inspection (as believe me, Bazza will know better then anyone else what it needs),

***My favorite words are "Bazza BWOKE" and he comes running to fix whatever I just broke***

down to "why in the world do I have to use an escrow service that costs so much money for ten days?" People, it is not a million dollar property we are talking about here! It just made more sense to me to not just buy a piece of concrete to put my RV on, but to spend a bit more and get the house and pool that would go along with that concrete pad...Anyways, life is way too busy for me right now and here are pictures!

And yes, a rental garbage skiff WILL be coming in handy! Anyone want to come help? This is in old town Murrieta, which is connected to Temecula, in between San Diego and Los Angeles.

There is a lot of "crap" in the place, and the lady we bought it from is 81 years old. But, the place is in great shape under the clutter and is good value, we think a good investment, and on a 1/4 acre just a couple blocks off the old town touristy area. We are a block away from fire station and police. That has to be good!

When we are done with it, it will be a very comfortable vacation "cottage"....

the carport beside the garage...Yes, plenty of accumulated "things" from them living there for 35 years! A lot to go in their garage sale this weekend (I hope...)
  • DSCF1822
No grass (good thing) but many colorful cement tiles and unicorns and deers scattered around the place!
  • DSCF1823
OK, not a very appealing picture currently, but inside the detached garage (read: one of Bazzas new workshops...) AND he has a vice and gets all the tools! There is even one of those corkboard things on the wall that you can trace the outline of your tools on...just like daddy has...
  • DSCF1824
The laundry room is a separate room behind the garage. Washer, dryer, beer fridge, double sinks and a new oven that was used once to cook a turkey. They only have smaller ovens in the house!
  • DSCF1825
The greenhouse has a double sink AND a chiller and heater! I think Bazza is seeing that as another type of workshop. I don't need to know, all I need to know is that i will not be growing tomatoes in there...
  • DSCF1826
More "stuff" and a shed. Yes the "stuff" apparently is now ours.
  • DSCF1827
Oh Look! My own very own laundry line...(ha) and the side view of one of the greenhouses
  • DSCF1828
Well, there is a lot of shells in the cement pond...
  • DSCF1830
I am pleased to say that most of the "stuff" in the greenhouse is now gone in the garage sale
  • DSCF1831
Yep, to my everlasting joy, potted plants, All mine. And another shed. all bazzas. He can have the plants as well...
  • DSCF1832

California room, or as the 81 yr old who owns the house calls it, the "dance room" as she used to teach line dancing classes in there. And yes, it has a wood floor...

  • DSCF1837
Yes people, you have it right, this is ANOTHER shed....
  • DSCF1838
Two complete air conditioning systems for the house. One a proper cooling one and one an evaporative system. I guess even the pre menopausal lady should be fine with all those. And they both work!
  • DSCF1839
Inside the California room. Yes, the chairs and tv are now apparently mine...
  • DSCF1840
    and the futon...

    2nd bathroom
  • DSCF1845
The second bathroom has a shower with a seat built in! My life is complete, I will feel exactly like I am still on the yacht sitting on the head to shower!
  • DSCF1846
Second bedroom, yep, I get the bed. The owner wanted to know if I wanted her to leave the sheets on the bed or not!

    Oh! My new office...
  • DSCF1861
    Great counters and cupboards everywhere.
  • DSCF1862
Yep built in and apparently they are even leaving me the wine glasses! At least my sister can put them to good use I am sure!
  • DSCF1864
Living room. Couches are NOT staying. Thank gosh! I find the brown 70's walls throughout the place a bit oppressive, but I think dark brown is coming back into style now and it is not like we are not used to it after living on Promenade for so long...
  • DSCF1865
The TV room and the lovely statue of something that I now own
  • DSCF1866
My new wall unit! And my dad made a comment about wondering how I would like buying furniture! Ha!

  • DSCF1872
I actually love the fridge! Large and it has an ice maker and chilled water. Perfect for my blue drinks ! (Plus the blender for the blue drinks goes with it) and this also shows the convection and normal (small oven)
  • DSCF1873
Breakfast nook. Apparently I have to replace the toaster. A deal breaker there for sure...
