Certain boats sell the occasional charter "by the cabin" instead of "by the yacht" This often gives guests the opportunity to vacation on a much larger yacht with more amenities then the smaller 2 person yachts provide. It is also a good way to meet new sailing mates and friends. Yes, it can be a crap shoot as to WHO you are with, but lets face it, most people who can afford to go on a yacht in the BVI are NOT college aged people looking for a party! Generally it seems you get couples from the ages 30-65, although there are always exceptions.

And finally, time share type yachts also offer cabin only charters, often with a low price to get you sailing. You will be hit with a sales pitch to buy into their program, sometime during your sailing on these yachts, to varying degrees on how pushy it is.
