44' Lagoon, up to 6 guests
2008 44' Lagoon which takes 6 guests. Cruising the Virgin Islands in the winter and the Turks and Caicos in the summer.
Oteka and her owner operator Patrick, have a lovely yacht, which may have just been my favorite at the Nov 2009 Tortola Boat show.
No expense has been spared in outfitting the yacht, and if they forgot an item, I am sure it will be coming along shortly.
In August of 2010 we received a note from Patrick that as the economy is still lacking, he will be concentrating on the value captain only charters. I will let him tell it in his own words!
"Ok, the recession is still here. As a charter guest, if I had to lower the cost of my sailing vacation, I would not be willing to accept an older or a smaller boat. I would want to continue enjoying holidays in the comfort and style that I was used to. Even if I could not afford to charter one of those beautiful yachts offering fully crewed charters and delicious gourment cuisine.
As a captain, I consider that sailing and enjoying water pleasures are the most important aspect of a yachting experience. Besides, the BVI has the privilege of being loaded with great bars and restaurants ashore. So, this season, I wish to focus on Captained Charters to offer savings and flexibility to those who were almost resigned to postponing their vacation to a better time.
We will offer 2 different charters:
Captain Only: Where you take care of the provisioning and cooking. Provisions can be ordered on line through Riteway, or I will drive you on the first day!
Half Board: Where I leave the helm for the galley to prepare healthy breakfasts and tasty lunches, bringing my french touch to a friendly cuisine. Dinners could be taken ashore or on board where the galley and new MAGMA barbecue would be available to the guests. Standard Bar and Drinks will also be provided in the half board charter."
Patrick is happy to teach sailing, celestial navigation, tying knots and chinese chess. I am not sure I know of another charter captain who teaches Chinese Chess!!
English, French and Italian is spoken on board. Oteka is available in the British Virgin Islands between September and June and in the Turks and Caicos July and August. Oteka is privately owned, operated and meticulously maintained by Pat Beaufront.
