After 18 years, in April of 2009, David and Glory have gone out of charter. He wrote a wonderful farewell to the industry letter which you can read in part, here.

"Thanks for the photos! We just got back on Monday night, so we're still settling in. I can't say that it's good to be back....!!

David - and Glory - were great. Exactly what we were looking for. In his little guest book I think I wrote that he's one part naturalist, one part historian, and one part old man and the sea (no offense, of course)! He's quite a character, but not in a bad way at all. It's just that I don't know many (any) people who have 20 years of sailing experience under their belt, and it was amazing how much he knew about the oceans, the lands, the wildlife, the people etc, etc, etc. I'm the kind of guy who has a lot of questions, and he knew the answer to everything.

The food was great, the boat was great (although the client should be prepared for a 37' monohull - it wasn't exactly "spacious", but we knew that going into the deal), and David was very accomodating. When we wanted to do more sailing, he re-arranged our plan to make for more sailing. When we wanted to do more snorkeling, he arranged it so that we could do so - and we went to some very cool places. We told him we wanted to do the out-of-the-way thing, so he took us to anchorages or moorings where we were the only boat nestled into the mangroves, no town in sight. I'm sure that if we had wanted to go explore on land at night he would have arranged to do that too. He was a great teacher, by the way, and if we were to do it again, I think I'd hire him to spend 7 nights with us teaching us so that we could bareboat the next year.

Anyway, let me know if I can give you any more feedback that that. It was a great trip. Thanks for all the help getting it booked."
