catatonic-crewed catamaran, lagoon 44

Nov 2009
Based out of Red Hook in the USVI, Catatonic is an owner's version Lagoon 44 which ideally takes up to 6 guests, but they can turn the galley into an additional queen sized bed in the BVI to make up to 8. However, this would make it quite a tight fit.
The crew, Russ and Missy, are American and have lived on St Thomas for the last several years. I found Missy to be one of the most outgoing people I have ever met, and had a lot of laughs with her at the boat show. She did own an advertising agencies for decades in the real world. Russ owned a brickwork company, and they have both sailed for a long time. They had just taken over the helm of the yacht in the last couple weeks, and they have a busy schedule in front of them this season with already having 22 charters booked, so finding space in their schedule will be tough.
Catatonic can also be booked fully crewed, or as captain/mate only program. Rates run from between $8000.00 to $12,000.00 plus gratuities.
The owners added on all the extras that they want to have when they are down here, so in addition to the normal stock charter items there are some extras: WiFi / Internet, SAT TV, Towing Ring, Kneeboard, Wakeboard, 2x1-man Kayak(s), Fishing Equipment, Waterskis (adult), Wii gaming system, ipod ready Stereo, MacBook on board for guest use, iTunes library with 5000 songs.
I think I would do the bowling that comes with Wii though at home and just enjoy the islands. I always love the "nifty gadgets" that some boats by every year, (although they generally wear out the same year too from my experience!) and Catatonic has just added a neat little system that allows you to get up in the middle of the night and make yourself quick brewed tea, coffee and hot chocolate of assorted varieties.

You can see a recently done video on the yacht here as well.
There are several other links here that will have up to date information and pictures.
