Ad Astra
We were last on Ad Astra at the 2007 boat show, and it still has the same lovely crew of Barry and Bridget on it. It is good to see crew who are on a yacht for more then 6 months, it speaks well for the yacht, owner and crew.
AdAstra has many new improvements in the last year
-Hulls have been sprayed
-New Dive Compressor which fills 2 tanks in 15 minutes
-New linens throughout the vessel including pillows, throw cushions and duvets
-All sails replaced last season
-New Couches, Dinnerware and curtains
-New headlining and lighting in the salon
-New Raymarine Instruments
-New Generator
- New and additional hatches installed throughout the saloon
-New microwave
And last but not least, one of the boats who have decided that they need fish in fish bowls, Grommet and Anchovey..that they freely admit may become shark bait and not pets! Talking to Bridget at the boat show her favorite replacements may have been the total color scheme change in linens throughout the cabins, and they really did look lovely.
I always find this young couple so friendly, and, I really noticed at the Boat show that they stood out on the back decks looking for brokers to invite inside as opposed to hiding down in the air conditioning and making us rap loudly on the hull to possibly get their attention. Which, some do do.
This is always a popular catamaran, especially if you are happy with one of the cabins having twin bunks instead of a double bed. There week long fully inclusive rates run between $12,900 to $16,900 and this rate has remained fairly steady over the last few years.
I also think this is a great boat for SCUBA divers with their on board air compressor, and offer casual diving up to 5-7 dives during the week for certified divers.
